Mia Schulte's art is a reflection of all the influences in her life. She often thinks about a painting long before the image materializes. Schulte applies multiple layers combining various mediums such as acrylic, ink, pastel, charcoal, etc. The painting evolves with each new layer as she proceed to clarify the message that she wants to express. Schulte is interested in painting about her impressions of a place or experience, and thoughts about life in general. Having studied and worked in various styles, she found that when she began working from memories, it was as if she had found home.
